Ah useful tip there fishdance, wish I'd have asked before I bought it! But yeah like you say eheim stuff will probably live longer then me!

Sorry for the delay!!! We were setting up a search posse! :nilly:

Looking real good so far, we're probably almost as excited as you to see it finished...well as close to finished as a tank can be :D.

Is that red wood?

And aren't you supposed to leave the cart at the store?

LOL Doc! I admit it did take me ages to get it sorted, but late is better then never! Nothing worse then someone who starts a post then never comes back to update it!

I have waited over 6 weeks to get this to how it is now, and remember this tank is in my bedroom, so every day i wake up to see an empty tank, every night i go to bed looking at it, it's been driving me nuts!

The wood is veneer? I'm no wood buff, but from what they had, this by description was best suited to exposure to moisture and water.. With the preserver/sealant in theory it should last forever and a day...

I don't drive so carrying the wood on my shoulders would be too much effort, so yeah pushed the cart home... (only a mile...lol) just kept thinking ok might look strange to other people, but the tank is priority lol. Wasn't just the two piece of 71" x 9" but had the off-cuts too which will come in useful for...(something...lol)

Should have the hood finished by midweek, cannot wait for this project to be completed, then can just sit back and wait for the cycling to finish

Finally the water is as it should be and ready for arrivals! Did a bit of aquascaping today, might have gone a bit over the top with the plant pots...

sin01bst thanks for the response. Ok cool eheim on the extreme left chamber, one pipe running to the top of the tank... will the eheim be submerged under water? or do i have it outside of sump with 2 tubes attached (intake/outake)? or inside sump with just one tube going as (return) ?

Will leave the UV for now if its not vital, as this lot is using so many sockets already!! The tank is 6ft... So on your setup you had an air pump running in the sump... Did you have any other filters running? External cannister etc? Will that (fluval)be running completely seperatley to my sump? I figured it would have to be involved in that someway?

use the UV as it will help make your water pristine
