IN YOUR HEAD
i am going to be setting up the new 120gal within a few months after the move...i plant to have it up and running in the new place so i can just transfure the fish into it to min stress on the fish from going tank to tank to tank...i have a 55gal that i will make into a sump...now for salt tanks what is the best sump configuration?...if everything goes acording to plan i will have an fx5 full of ceramics as the return pump...ideas? all are welcome as this is my first sump ever...

also i have 2x 1" overflow tubes with they be enough for the fx5s flow?

you will have to get a separate pump for your sump, i don't advise doing the fx5 as the return. I would just run the fx5 on the 125 and buy a nice skimmer. Keep up with good maintenance on the mech part of the fx5 and you will be fine.

you can talk sumps on the 180 or 220. Your not to far away from deciding the 125 isnt enough ;)

i know its not big enough nor neer enough to satify my hunger...but the wife flipped when she found out i was getting it(witch was when i was comming in with it)...so i have to wait a little to expand more...the 120 is drilled and i have the bulkheads and overflow tubes...i would hate to just block the bulkheads up and not use them...it is kinda a weird drilling...it is on the bottom but there is no overflow box just the tubes...

The fx5 isn't made or rated as a lift pump so you output would be drastically diminished. You really should find a lift pump.
