Sumps and co2 injection?

VERY NICE. Glad I wasn't too far off! So you dont have a single baffle in your sump? Seems like the pumping losses would wear out the pump pretty quick...
 
i dont follow, pumping losses? because of no baffles?
 
Yeah, you see that a lot with rivertank & manifold setups...burnt out powerheads within weeks. Obviously your water is not moving quite that fast, so the effect is less, but I'd imagine your pump would be tougher to replace than a powerhead. Fast moving water wears pumps down really fast for some reason. I'm not an engineer, but I know you see the same thing when pumping air. Maybe a sheet of (my favorite!) plastic knitting mesh would slow it down a bit? Just kiddin
 
ah you mean the water flowing down into the sump from the overflow? because i closed off the drain line to reduce splashing, there is no water movement in the sump. it's dead calm! check out the video on my 57g planted thread, first post
