Anyone ever keep sun cats and cichlids together? Are they fast growers?

They're actually pretty slow growers but in large tanks they can be kept together. I have one that just got to 6" in my 240 living with a 8.5" male festae and quite a few other aggressive fish. I have another one that's about 5" in my 135 with a 6" Carpintis, 5" Cuban and a few smaller cichlids. They both do very well, eat like pigs and very rarely even get nipped fins. They are pretty shy though and they tend to hide throughout the day. If you decide to go ahead and put one in with your cichlids, make sure there's a lot of places for the cat to hide.

I've kept mine with the less aggressive cichlids like severums.

They are actually unbelievably grow slowers. Mine is one of the bigger ones around and he's about 9 inches, but I've had him for 5 years and he was about 3 inches when I got him. They grow that slow despite the fact that he eats like a pig and they have good water quality.

I have a beast 11" and thick in with my large aggressive cichlids. 5 years, he is very tough, will defend his turf against my 11" zonatus and very aggressively. Really good shot of him on my thread day one video

Awesome! I hope mine gets that size. Mine have only taken a few months to get from 3" to now 6" but they seem to have slowed down now.
