bukster, mine is very calm and does not pick on anyone. It is about the same size as yours. He does like feeder fish, and mine is definitly a nighttime feeder. It will not touch the feeders in the light, but as soon as the lights are out I can hear him thrash as he gobbles them up. He will eat sinking pellets during the day though. Oh, and he swims around under my 22" Pacu to stay out of the light.

that's funny swimming under a pacu. don't you have any cover for him?

yeah so far so cool with mine. i really like the blood red coloring on his tail. my smaller one never had that.

Bad news! This morning my sun cat has a big gouge in its left eye. That sucks. It looks like his eye is still functional. damage looks like its on the outside only. Any tricks to help this heal? I probably should quarentine him so he doesn't get picked on.

they hide alot when young or alone but when older and in groups they venture out much more you really need an out going one and a few others they will follow the out going one to the food or where ever these guys won't let other fish take all the food once they get big enough or get use to the tank they are preditory to so once the light are out so are any small fish
