Knee deep in fish
we just got sun catfish and they are about 3/4in how big do they get they have the same body shape as my rtc but tiny.We didnt even order them but the look really cool

these guys are really shy. if you have a planted tank they'll disapear for months on end...with mine i provide them with very little hiding places so i can see them more often.

size isn't completely known as one source says 18" based on the largest caught fish i believe, yet another very trustworthy source has said 12" is max in captivity and i myself have not seen any over 12".

still these are some cool kitties and i love my 8 incher even though he tries to hide behind a rock that is much smaller then him the whole day lol

mine hid alot too and stopped growing at 6". if you really like them, get more. they are much more active in groups and if you keep them with other active fish

I saw one in my lfs that was around 10''. I dont think they get a whole lot bigger than that..

you can already see noticable growth? i've had my smallest one (2") for about 3 weeks with very little noticable growth. ohwell i still got the big guy at 8" lol

I have two that are just over 6". I purchased them them at 1.5" or so, they grew fairly quick until they hit around 5" then grew to 6" pretty slow. I've had them for about a year at 6"+ and have not really noticed much growth. They rarely come out, they pretty much always hide.
