Hey guys, nabbed this from a local pond and was looking for a positive id. I believe its a female bluegill? Sorry for the pics, hard to get as he/she likes to hide in the plants

+1 I bought one of those at a lfs because it was mixed in with the feeders and I hadnt seen one before. All the googling I could muster left me thinking it was a green sun fish. Not 100% sure but it was close enough for me
 
That's a bluegill.

And in the future, you may want to check the laws before you do things like this. It is ILLEGAL to transport live fish from the wild here...
 
yep regular bluegill, nice lil fish - watch out for the tank police!!!!
 
Oh i thought they were considered baitfish..allowing to transport with a license.

Wrong. Bluegill are considered a baitfish, however live baitfish cannot be transported from one body to another (or home). Store bought baitfish from a licensed dealer, with a receipt, can be transported.
