No person may acquire live fish or viable gametes for possession pursuant to a commercial or private lake license unless they are acquired from a person who possesses a valid Colorado aquaculture facility permit issued by the Department of Agriculture or a valid aquatic wildlife importation licensed issued by the Division and they otherwise comply with all other applicable Wildlife Commission regulations.

Please don't take what I said the wrong way, I myself keep natives. There are legal ways of getting them. I don't feel that taking a few fish for your tank will cause any harm (except in very specific cases) but I do feel that knowing the law is important (and can keep you out of trouble). The main reason we have these laws is because of bucket biology (people illegally stocking "unwanted" species).

Just be smart about what you do. Most of the time when people come on here asking for an ID of a fish they just caught and put in their tank, they have no idea of the care requirements or laws, and its really frustrating dealing with this so often.

No worries man. I rather be safe then sorry. I appreciate it, I have read a lot of info on the care and will be sure not to release. Know any legal places to get some 'gills?

Any possible way i could keep the temp a lil warmer like mid-high 70's and add some kind of med sized central american cichlid or would you avoid it?
