yeah rock bass are nice, i love there red eyes. and i think they stay under 10"

Rock bass average about 10 inches, they can get larger.
Shadow bass, which are a related species that I keep, average around 8 and generally don't get over 10. They're also better about handling warmer water which is why they're only found in southern regions.

Yeah I think I would have some trouble getting a shadow bass. Although it sounds about what I would like. What do they look like?

ya as far as i remember rock bass stay under a foot, but they do have a huge mouth and will eat anything they can fit in it. mines about 5", ya the red eyes are sweet.

Yeah, I didn't notice you were in MN, you might have trouble, lol.

They pretty much look like rock bass.

Yeah shadow bass sounds tough for me to get, I'll probably stick with the rock bass. Although a shadow bass sounds nice.

I would go with perch/bullhead if i were you
