sunken eyes on my pictus cats

don't take this as a hijack please.

i just lost a pictus and have another one that is barely hanging on.

exact same thing.

sunken eyes, "melted" whiskers, and the face on the living one is melting away.

i had a total of 4 of them, 1 dead, 1 dying, 2 perfect.

nothing else in the tank was affected.

i have no idea what happened.

they were all fine that morning, by the afternoon, one was dying.

only thing i did was a 20% water change and blew open the powerhead to full blast - lots-o-oxygen!

i can snap a picture of the remaining affected pictus if that might help anyone else that has this issue.

My koi went through an episode like this (infected from a koi my brother bought and threw into the tank without quarantining).

Anyways, after hundreds of dollars on meds, finally figured it out. Gill Flukes.

Like kniefgil said, use a medication with praziquantel. Parasite Clear or Prazi-Pro are good.

EDIT- Forgot to say, before they died, they all had sunken-in eyes. Sounds similar to your case.
