I just noticed that may aro has sunken stomach.
swims normally and active. Appetite is ok but can only eat 50% of what it used to eat.

What seems to be the problem? Will the sunken stomach return to normal?

how long have you had it? how big? What is your filtration size?

the is problem could be solved by getting it a 50percent water change. Then set your water to stay about 82-85degrees. arrowanas like warm water and it will not eat if your water don't stay at next to 0 or just 0.(water quility.)

My aro is currently in a 100g tank. Size is 9". Triple overhead filter and 1 canister filter. I think the filtration is ok. Just had a 40% water change. I already put melafix and some salt.

I will put heater now. Thanks for the immediate reply.

Anymore suggestions please.

Your not feeding it enough, i have found with mine if i dont feed them enough their stomacks dip inwards, but once i heavily feed them their stomacks bulge and they are even more happy :)

why did you add melafix??!!!!

could be a bacterial infection in the stomach. these can cause swimbladder infections as well. I would just stick with the salt and added temp for a few days and keep your water very clean. If he is still eating that you still have some very good options and he has a great chance of recovery. If the heat and salt don't help I would look into some kind of medicated food or medicating his food with an antibacterial med(LOW DOSE!!) What does his diet consit of? could be a parasite as well but more unlikly and still curable if he's eating. Keep the info coming and check back often. There are some very smart fish people on here to help you out

NLS anti pasasite food would work no?

that would be a great start if he will eat it. If not you can try soaking his normal foods in a medication

do us a favor pls...post a pic b4 u do anything like adding such and such meds... it could be just normal. do a research on meds 1st b4 u use one aight? adding melafix at this time wont even do nothing. Imagine drinking a medicine for constipation when all u have is a headache.

I notice mine has sunken stoamch somedays, especially if he's on a non-live food diet. nothing wrong with it.
