Is this what u guys call a sunken stomach...or am i paranoid?
It used to hang around the driftwood and was doing fine...then when i added the Vampire pleco.....it simply got up...left...and i've seen the guy eat minimally. I've seen it eat the zucchini...bt so seldom...and it spends most of its time, away from the wood, instead, hanging off the glass.

bump!!....c'mon people...help me out here! please!!!

Yes that is a sunken stomach. When mixing plecos you must be careful. Leporacanthicus species are highly territorial, and panaques are not nearly as aggressive. You will need to add a lot more wood, or separate him into a different tank.

I keep a royal with 4 flash and a gold nugget but then I also have tons of driftwood and caves.
All of which are not Leporacanthicus species.

ok....point taken. thanks alot.

Aw, poor baby. Yes, he's extremely starved. If you're going to attempt to keep him where he's at I'd put a LOT more wood in there. If it were my Royal I'd put him in another tank-where he's the only bottom feeder (at least until he gains some weight).

well...i've kicked my Vampire out. My grand ma has it now. i just put a gi-normous piece of drift wood in...bt he seems to be avoiding it. i hope it works out. the scales on his body are starting to protrude.......sigh.
