Thanks, Justin. I don't have the best camera or photographic skills as a lot of you guys, so I don't share too many photos. Sunny was just too relaxed to let the moment get away. You'd definitely enjoy keeping a Midas!JK47;4950501; said:Chunky beast! Nice to see stock pics from you Al! I have never kept a midas but will one day, I really like them.
LOL! He's an eager boy. I tried a slightly smaller female with him with tragic results. For two days they were fine. Then on the morning of the third day I found the female mangled and ready to be flushed. No more mating attempts until I can get him into a much larger tank.peathenster;4950554; said:That's one chunky fella! Very nice color. Looks like he's getting excited in the last pic![]()
Thank you! That is a great compliment! He still has quite a while to have Jr's status. We'll see how he looks in another 6 months.Anubisscott;4950737; said:man, with that coloration he looks like he is Jr's brother. Gourgous MiddevilHe is a chunk
Thanks.valderi123;4950755; said:great pics
I appreciate it! He's getting so big that when he does eat the NLS pellets it looks like he is just inhaling them. Oh, and I did cut down the amount of food at each serving. You were right, he has kept up the same growth but I have far less poop in the tank. Thanks for the advice.RD.;4950902; said:Looking good Al!
LOL! I don't even know what to say...but thanks! He's 7" of aggravation when I'm changing the water in his tank. I may need gloves soon! BTW my Snooks seem to have had a role reversal. I bumped up the temp when I added my new heater (my ten-year old heater exploded). The Red Snook which I thought was a female has been bullying the Green Snook which I thought was the male. The red one was always smaller but it has outgrown the green one over the last month. I'm so confused!Freshwaterpredators;4950943; said:Very nice bro. Pretty thick for a 7 incher... Lol I can't believe I just said that![]()
I was actually surprised to see this thread bumped up again. Thanks for the compliment! I purchased Sunny from Petsmart in October 2010. I know that a lot a people frown on Petsmart Midas/Devils but I was very struck by his attitude, shape, and color pattern. He has grown a lot since then and hasn't let me down with his great looks. He's 8" currently. It looks like his body is focusing on growing length-wise rather than girth in the last few weeks.Natalie;5009854; said:You've got a beauty, Gruff! Sometimes I wish Midas stayed around the 8" size. I think they're especially beautiful then... sometimes the males get a little too big and lumpy after that for me.Where did you get yours?
Thanks. He's not so nice nice during water changes though! LOL... He is a relentless biter and bumper when my hands are in the water. He'll even nip at my fingers above the water line that are holding the python.vfrstephen;5009923; said:Nice devil.
