I received mine today, sprung a leak instantly, thought it was weird that it took me 5 minutes to fill the canister before use until I noticed I was standing in water, I lifted it up and drained the remaining water from the drain port back into the tank.
The leak had sprung from the impeller housing so I took to it with a screwdriver, pulled it out to check the o-rings, they were good so I put it back together and leak tested it, held water fine just had to tighten the screws.
The unit is now leak free although I suspect it is sucking in air either through the lid or the intake/outtake quick connects due to the sound it's making.
All in all it's a very powerful, very large and very practical filter with all its features, I think I can look past its flaws and try to fix the air leak.
