Hi guys,

I saw this video on youtube and was considering doing the same setup for my tank:

I currently have a sunsun hw-304b running on my tank for almost 2 years. I found the 603b on ebay for 23 dollars and a version with its own pump (stand alone filter version) for only 25. Since it was a 25 dollar difference i bought the one with the pump. My question is, would having both pumps in the filter running at once cause an issue? Would there be some kind of turbulence or one filter being ran dry? If anything I can just leave the 603b unplugged, but say for example my 304b outputed 300gph after media and the 603b did 100gph. Would this be a very bad idea to have them both plugged in? Having only the 304b would cause the flow to be less due to more restriction from the 603b.

Thanks

Rationale would be to leave the smaller prefilter canister unplugged since it is a much lower powered pump. I would go as far as removing the impeller from the smaller canister as well, to get optimal flow.

What would happen if the prefilter was plugged in too? Would it just bottleneck the main filter since it wouldn't output as fast as the main one intakes?

if you want a prefilter for your canister why not just make one from pvc pipes? its not hard to do and cheap.
