Super Banjar Red arowana wont eat

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
He is referring to previous threads. Please test your water so others can help you, i would also recommend a larger tank

Without shadow of a doubt that tank is way too small for an arowana. Yeah lets face it most ppl don't house fish in the best sized aquarium, however yours is way too small.

No wonder it is stressed.

Your also going to struggle to maintain water quality as it should eats loads, and therefore produce a lot of waste.

Best advice is obtain a larger aquarium 150 gal plus as a grow out immediately, with the intention to upgrade shortly afterwards, or do the right thing and rehouse the fish.

just mind your own business dude
Its an open forum there champ, I don't have to mind my business. You post pointless threads about your dying arowana and refuse to check water quality and also refuse to get a larger tank. You stated you wouldn't be upgrading your tank at any point in one of your previous BS threads.

Either listen to the people's advice who have given it, or go about doing your own thing and wondering why your arro is acting strange.

why u like to hijack people thread

Let me counter this with another question: why u like to disregard 99% of what's said to your benefit and in an attempt to help you?

In my humble example, I said all this to help you and your fish:

Swimming up and down is a bad sign. The fish is likely stressed and instinctively trying to get out of the tank / bad water. Relaxed arowana swim horizontally, mostly at the surface.

If I had to guess, your tank may not be cycled and/or your water parameters are not stable, swinging too much.

Or maybe it's getting bullied.

Or, if you have been feeding it only shrimp/prawn, it is suffering from vitamin B1 deficiency.

Or maybe it is feeding fine and you are trying to overfeed it.

It is conceivable that it sees its reflection and trying to pick a fight but it is too small for that yet, I'd think.

Here is what we need to help you:

http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/to-help-you-we-need-a-little-help-please.671346/

Again, if I had to guess, you don't measure / know your water parameters such as ammonia, nitrite, nitrate. Until you do, I am afraid we won't be able to help you in any meaningful way, bro!

I'd just say your arowana is being difficult ;)

Took a look at the two threads by Geraldaw linked by Josh. Pretty informative.

Geraldaw, please get a liquid test tube test for ammonia and nitrite and determine when/if your tank is cycled or whether it has sufficient bio-filtering capacity. Do not get the sticks but get the liquid test.

Until then, you will probably be killing off your Asian aros and neither will you get help on any forum.

All you said in return is this:

I dont have any tank mate in it.

It appears hypocritical of you to teach us forum manners because you yourself appear to not grasp the concept of rudeness.

I sincerely hope you will turn around and I will stop feeling like I've wasted my time and effort trying to answer your cries for help.

Josh' post was 100% valid IMHO because you are new here and no one wants to waste their time and effort. I, for one, appreciated it.

I'm all for the benefit of doubt but if you go on like that, you will be miserable here, either ignored or attacked by others. Again, just a friendly advice to a newcomer. Everything is salvageable still at this point.

My $0.02.

Because you are in Singapore I recommend you visit www.arofanatics.com and post on the discussion board there. You will find many local Asian arowana experts over there.

Also, you might go check out the C328 store in S'pore, the "auntie" there will diagnose your problems in a flash.

On a side note, never heard of a super banjar red before. Is it crossbred? From what farm?
