That just means it hasn't been experimented with enough. Give them 5-10 years and they'll have turned it into something that's a public health threat because they can't kill it anymore...

yeah you're right, it hates oxygen. i don't know what's necessary to successfully culture it at home.

Certainly an interesting read. Not sure if it will translate to aquaria well as the "nutrient" load in a septic system is many orders of magnitude higher than an aquarium. But you never know.
