Not sure but these look like older cats who have probably done this before. I'd say the cat knew what he/she was doing. The idea of having kids that close to gators without a firearm just reeks of unsafe. Though it's also possible that these were pet gators since no one was all that surprised or alarmed. Certainly not unheard of.

i guarantee you that cat is ten times faster than that gator and that gator couldn't grab it if it wanted to... also panthers eat gators down in florida and jaguars eat cayman down in SA... that gator's natural instincts are good ones... cuz mama panther might not be too far away....
