Animal guy, just so you know the food doesn't play the huge role in freckles or color on umbees. Genetics are the biggest effect whether or not an umbee is gonna look killer. If you have good genetics then yes a healthy diet is a must. But imo water quality plays a bigger role than the type or name brand of food you feed to help with size and color. I work away from home for two weeks at a time. While I'm gone my wife feeds the same diet but doesn't do water changes like me. When I get home my fish don't have that million dollar shine. But after I give a couple water changes and get back to my schedule, all my fish's color POP!!! And usually puts my fish into spawn mode. This umbee you posted has great genetics and potential. And trace is doing a grear job with him
+1. I do several massive water changes a week and only feed them 4 days a week with NLS. Maybe twice a month they get frozen krill just for fun and in the summer I feed whatever insects I find abound the house. Water quality and good genetics are key. I am a firm believer in NLS though.

Hey is it important or does it make a difference to put salt or no?
I sell a lot locally and some mfkers have ended up with some. Most however just end up as snacks when they spawn again which is about every 3-4 weeks. Anyone who is interested just let me know I almost always have some!

ok then I guess I dont need that much salt either then.. I put salt everytime I do WC.. Now after this I just put a lil just in case it helps with their breathing..
Anyways, can you take a video of them at prespawn like when he was so blue? He's not that same blue anymore.. And i think this is because the fries are already swimming around. Meaning this is the stage of a different mood..
