So you are planning on having the pump pull the water from the tank? Anything to maintain the siphon?

Yeah the pump will pull from the tank up and over. I figured once I fill the pipe going to the pump behind the tank it will keep going unless I shut it off. There's a little stand pipe to pour water in so it starts pulling when it gets fired up. The only air will be right above the tank rim at first start up.

Thank you! I'm gonna be doing a test run on my 180 this weekend probably. I will be sure to post a video

The only thing that worries me a little is the drains. The pump is rated for 2600gph at 0 height obviously. Im just hoping two one inch drains will handle it. I have to test it on the front of my tank because the back is taken up by DIY PVC overflow and pond tubing for my return. I cant really take it all down and assume its gonna work ha. The only reason why I havnt hooked it up yet is my kelberi bass are skittish as hell and Im afraid theyll freak out too much when I put this thing in front of the tank. They run from people and my python. Cant imagine this.

Who thinks two one inch drains can keep up?

Add extra drains for insurance...

Yeah it overflowed once I put media in. Ran fine before hand. Also was way too loud for my liking as well. Scraped the idea. Thanks though!
