i dont mind them being dinner for my gulper, and i dont want something thatll outgrow my gulpers home cus then itll haveto go into my ancient tank and thatd be weird

If you go with balas or tinfoils, depending on your tank size you'll have to upgrade them. Since they can reach 8 inches. Stick with danios imo.

Or a thousand feeder guppies... he won't catch them all right away lol
 
Would it eat ghost shrimp? i can get 8 for a buck i think so i could get about 30 of them searching the tank floor
 
Zebra danios would be best bet, but you could get the danios and through in some ghost shrimp to help keep the tank clean and provide a snack.
