Super Glue Safe?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If the support is there to keep the tank from bowing neither super glue or jb weld will hold it. You need something that will melt the plastic and then it still may not hold. Replacing the plastic top or cutting it out and siliconing glass in it's place would be a safer repair.

The center brace of my tank is broken and I was thinking of repairing it with super glue...

Yes or No?

What you should do is:
buy a big clamp that fits across the tank to hold it in position.
get a piece of glass cut and replace the brace.

People who keep reef tanks have been using super glue gel for a while to affix coral to frag plugs. Due to the demand of good water parameters in a salt water tank I would say its safe. As for the question of wether it will work or not I cant answer that.

Doesn't the label on crazy glue say to use warm water to remove it?... lol
Personally I don't think I'd use it.
