Super Glue to attach plants to driftwood

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I dont know why people dont do this more often. I know Im gonna do it as soon as my J-ferns release their mini-me's.

I believe superglue crumbles as it ages, so it would make a good temporary anchor while roots are formed. I've used it in my own wounds before with good results. Doctors use it and Koi surgeons use it, too. I'd suspect it should be allowed to cure above water first, for maximum safety and bond, then submerged. I'll bet if you compared chemicals between that 'Aqua-band-aid' product and a tube of super glue, you'd find some similarities.

I thought silcone worked to? But yes, look for DISOLVING on the super glue.

Since silicone won't cure underwater (as far as I know), it would be very difficult to keep the plants alive while the drwiftwood/rocks were out of the water.

Lol, I woudn't use super glue, put the wood and plant in a bucket of water, and maybe loosely tie the plants roots to the wood and hope they start to grow onto the wood.
