hi ,
well i have a 22inch mbu puffer that just left the airport to me.
heres how i did it.
100 qt cooler holds temp for 5 days
4 sm heat packs
3 x-L and strong garbage bags
oxygen
duck tape.
quick flight

it was 50/50 when asked if he will make the flight from many dealers /hobbiest
i feel very good about it .
ill keep everyone posted.
wish me luck ......

otherwise ill have a big flippin puffer to stuff and mount
 
Eek! Thats a HUGE puffer, hope he makes it. Keep us updated!!!

well i dont know if you remember me or not from other sites years back . but the 700 gallon he is going into has been running for 15 years or so and it is the newer of all my other tanks .

Sounds perfect! I didn't look at your name at 1st but yes, I do remember you. I expect to see lots of pics & FTS! Post at TPF too.
 
thanks again everybody for the support!! great news....... he is doing awesome!!!!!!! i will post pics in a couple of days cuz im keeping the lights off today and low tomorrow - camera wont shoot pics well .

when got to the cargo area at 11:20 pm last night i was very nervous to say the least . all the planning came down to this one moment . this puff at this size was always a dream of mine . especially since he was raised with bottom and top mates. ( i have stingrays a tig and a lg dat .)
so i go to the door ask "can i pick oup my puff. " " no the shipment was delayed" OOOOOOOHHHH crap!! --here we go!!

i had checked on the internet an hour before i left . said flight was on time!!

anyway another hour goes by .......finally it arrives . the wieght was 120 ibs !! -- that included the water/puff and the cooler.

airline was nice enough at 1 :00 in the morning to help me move the shipment to the car.
items i brought with me
5 gallons of tank
flashlight
secondary tub ( incase of the cooler cracked)
knife
my prayers
i cut open the duck tape around the lid . the bags where still full with oxygen like a balloon. i had them triple bag it .
i attempted to look in with a flaslight but being triple bagged and black in color . couldnt see anything. except i knew there were no leaks . so i put the lid back on and headed home.

when i got home i had another problem how to get this much wieght down to the basement .
i had to wake my wife up at 2:30 in the morning to have a strenuois workout. we did it !! all went well
i acclimated for 2 hours and put him in his new home.

the private party i bought im from really went out of their way to make this work.
thanks to them my dream is at hand.

you people wouldnt believe all the thought and crazy ideas that occured.
my original plan was to add battery op air pumps and secure them to the cooler . after further investigation it can get down to 50 degrees even in a temp controled plane. that would mean the air pumps would be bringing in very cold air quickly ......that spells death .
anyway ....

awesome guys /gals!!!! this patteren is very impressive.
