Super Quiet Air pump recommendations

It's funny that so many of you recommend Whisper air pumps.
I got two of the 100 Whisper's for Christmas for my 300 gallon tank and I cant stand either of them.
They are both so loud I cant stand it.
I replaced the hose and fittings as well as the air disks because I thought
mabey some force was causing the noise.
But no less, they both sound the same. Almost sounds like a transformer
on a light pole.

Agreed! I have a whisper operating an air filter and it's almost unbearable. I picked up a noname pump as a replacement at the LFS and it's silent. The whisper is okay if you can tuck it away somewhere.

I've got the Whipser 300 and it has been silent for the year I've had it.

I feel the same. I think noise level must be relative. I bought 2 whisper 100s and a 60 on sale. I thought they were all very loud. I ended up drilling small holes through the wall to mount the 100s in the garage and spare room directly behind the tanks. I threw a towel over the 60 to quiet it, and it burned up the first night.
