So far all I can find is light eyes, no red or prange eyed SRM, eyes even with face non-protruding, deep body, not slender riverine, but ive also read the true SRM took a nose dive circa 2012-2014 after the SGM came into play. So I guess its anybodys name game? I was hoping someone somewhere could show me definitive differences between the two...the quest for knowledge thickens

I found the following description of SRM: "....they are solid red in color, without pearling, have a wide and not elongated body shape and yellow eyes, not white". Also, I'm still undecided on how to treat the SRM's sub-color variations

Sounds about like all I could find also, and tbh i treat the sub variants a lot like red texas. Most everyone wants an SRM thats peeling, faded, or mostly faded. So those are really the only 3 I count everything else should have been culled at .5-2in to keep the fading gene at front of line. Regardless , until a breeder starts releasing trade secrets were in the dark

Hello. I'm new here. There is almost no information on how to make the Super Red Monkey. Using the available information, I created the following diagram. What will be the thoughts?

I will add pictures of one of my friends, which he made more than 15 years ago. The offspring from the cross Vieja melanura x red parrot gave splitting into several strains: the first - the standard Vieja body / color Vieja melanura; second - standard vieja body/fader color; third - red parrot / fader; the fourth - the body is a red parrot / color Vieja melanura (syn parrot). As I suggested earlier, for further work on the red monkey project, it is necessary to select females (standard vieja body / color fader).

Been having this SRM Flowerhorn (currently 6-7 in) for about 4 years now and she has killed (or tried to) everything I tried to put in the tank with her, except this Vieja Synspilum, which I'm sure is no more than 2 inches. Weird is that I had 3 to start and she killed the other 2. Hoping the Vieja is a male, but I can't tell at the moment.

Great picture, the unfading stage clearly shows the vieja genes.

I have several hybrids from the cross red parrot x vieja bifasciata azufres. I'll keep an eye on the color change.
