That is because a lot of people dont use carbon in their filters. In fact if you are on a good maintnance schedule and check for nitrates on a regular basis then carbon is not that essential. Water changes can do a lot of the same things carbon can do. Therefore the products you are asking about are usless to many aquarists. Most Carbon in those products are very low quality and and may leach phosphates into your aquarium. If you are going to use carbon in your filters you should buy some High quality carbon and some bags, maybe some fine floss to go behind it. Thus being said that is the most likley reason you are not getting the responses you hoped for.

Need a third choice for me, I believe both are junk. I wouldn't even buy the super they will just restrict water flow. I have used the bio3 they clog quick, the frames I still use a put my own floss in. If your are doing regular water changes the carbon is not needed.

:iagree: I use the bio three cartridges but just with the blue foam and fine floss.

i tend to do about a 10-15% water change once a week, and usually vac one half of the tank at a time when doing so. Tried my own homemade stuff for awhile, and it wasn't very good so I switched...

Have you had good expierence with them? Do they clog? How do you know when to clean them? Do you put them in the slot where your normal cartridge would go or in front/behind it?

WEll , I guess it's hard to guage bio activity, but seemingly it works very well, and I put it in the slot behind the mechanical filtration...

Cell pore doesn't clog that easily if you have decent mechanical filtration, even if it does you can clean it off w/out much hassle. It is the most efficient bio product you can have.....
