Obviously Kratos is new to cichlid keeping. I think what set you guys off is that he said 'lets take bets to see who's going to die'. But then he said he was just kidding around. Let's forget he said that and give him a break. Remember when we were new? We didn't know sh*t from shinola on what was compatible with what or even understand the concept of how few cichlids you can keep in a tank. Most of us long timers learned by trial and error. At least he has an opportunity to learn from our experience...now if he keeps up the B.S., that's a different story.

Kratos, apparently you have a 65 gallon tank. I know you don't want to hear this but in the near future, that tank will only be large enough to house either 1 Oscar OR 1 Red Devil OR 1 Trimac (Flowerhorn in your case). I know it sucks but that's the short end of the stick my friend. If you want to keep multiple fish, you could keep the EBJD and a couple of other less agressive and smaller growing cichlids or other type of fish like some Silver Dollars or other dithers.

Good Luck in your new hobby.
:iagree: I have a 4" RD that tried to take over my 55 so he's separated now. RDs and FHs are really aggressive when they get bigger. My 6" RD beat the crap out of my big 9" RD. You're gonna have to split them up sometime, hopefully soon as much as it sucks... hope it all goes well for you though man until it's all sorted out, G/L...:headbang2

owch. good zing though...

We need more posts of true trimacs and perhaps a pinned thread showing the difference between true trimacs and low grade flowerhorns...

Acestro, long time no see. How's those true Rivalatus doing? Are you still breeding them?

(sorry off topic)

i know for a fact i may have a few fights but i will never let it go to the point where i lose one cause i gone to far to get them all together

When I left for work last week Friday, eveything was ok in my tank. Real small skirmishes but nothing too serious to make me think I needed a divider. When I got home, my 3.5'' Flowerhorn had killed my firemouth and severly wounded my green severum so bad I decieded to kill it. 2 fish dead by the time I got home from work. Never seen such fast, intense aggression ever.

I cleaned this up a bit. Let's remember that we are not all experts, and try and help our fellow fishkeeper instead of flaming him into a stinking pile of ash. We're all here for the learning experience, no matter what level you're at.

thanks .....for the support ,...........High five!!!!!!!!!!!! very nice !!!

I hope you learned your lesson, fishkeeping is often trial and error. We all start with mistakes. The lesson here is that research is in order before you bring home bags. Good luck.
