eh it might cloudy up a little bit. I rinsed mine out allott and still cloudyed up a little but cleared in a day or 2

It took me about 5 or 6 hours off and on to rinse it clear. I wish you had given me the pillowcase idea when I was doing it! LOL. That would have been MUCH easier I will see if I can get some pics up...

Ok, so here is the finished product. These are my two Senegalus Polys...Earl and Fran. This is their temp home for the next month or so. Moving into a house as opposed to a dubba-wide...so will actually be able to handle a heavier tank I think the black sand turned out very nice. What do you guys think?

sand turned out great! what is the pillow case trick? put sand in case and run the water through it till clear? ( in 5lb incruments)
