I have seen that pup size can vary from the same parents. Do they still have a yolk sac attached and if so, how big is it? If no yolk I don't know that I'd say that they are necessarily premature.

Keep in mind that rays have 2 uterus- one on each side of midline. It might be possible to have pregnancy occur on both sides simultanously, perhaps with slightly different conception dates or gestation times. I don't know that this has been documented yet, but could be possible?

If this is possible, does this also make it possible for a female to conceive with with two different males. I mean if you have two
different conception dates, who is to say it isn't with two different males.

i think its unlikely but could happen...

well, she had 2 more pups last night. both very healthy but still very small. one got bit by the male but its not that bad...

we were lucky she had them when we were home.. my armatus kept going at them like he was gonna eat them. we had to keep hitting the glass so he wouldnt....
