Maybe pull the eggs right after the male has a go at them next time. If you could get just 1 to hatch that's proof you have a fertile male.

They laid eggs yester day, but today most of them are white, looks like just another serile male, but won't know until to morrow.

I bet the person that traded them in said they were a pair and the store mistook them as a fertile pair.

Don't give up! Give it some time....don't draw a conclusion with just one spawning attempt.

Well I have a smaller pair that laid today, mostly becase I put some of the water from my breeding pair in their tank. These brobably won't be fertile either, but the maile is a low grade from petsmart. He looks like a short body devil, even has the pattern. Ill just see if these hatch.
