Supporting your hobby

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's good income! I'll be building pallet boxes after my prelim exams, people pay good money and I have the tools to manufacture them fairly quickly. Takes less than 2 hours per box, probably less now with a table saw :)

I've seen your nicely made products on another thread, you should think about starting your own brand/company -- can call it something like 'Pallets for Pellets' :)

I like the name. I'll be upgrading from a jigsaw and nails to a tablesaw and screws. Should go much quicker with less fuss, took two hours a piece last time. Once the wood is chopped down from the pallets which does take a while construction is quick and easy though :)

Knowing your way with wood really helps in this hobby. My dad helped me build this stand that I use for some 15 gallon tanks and orchids. I also built the light unit on my aquascape which seems to work well enough for growing a compact carpet! The orchid lighting is the newest addition as I recently acquired a few new plants so had to work on something bigger. The 15W LED is phenomenal for growth. To cover the scape I cut acrylic which is lined with aluminium U bar (Hot glued in :nilly: ) to keep it from flexing and it seems to work well enough :)

You should post pictures more often Hendre.

I don't usually have too much to post about tbh. My tanks aren't all so amazing at the moment, but I'll share my scape that's eaten my wallet:
