Surface feeding poly?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's definitely not weird behavior in the wild. Natural for polys to go up to catch bullfrogs, insects, & etc... But in the aquaria believe we make it easier by throwing food into their glass cages, therefore, the mentality of "I don't need to swim up to eat". If you skip 2 plus days from feeding. Certain polys will come up to floaters, or at least wait for them to sink. Jaws and Dmd - you guys are sh_t out of luck on this because of the FAT pellet hoggin cichlids u guys got.

Here's some vids:

That what i wanna learn(hand feeding)
My fear is being bit and the fish wont let go, lol.

Had a midas when I was a kid that would hand feed, as it got older it finally ended up getting me and drew blood so that was the last 'hand feeding'. My puffer I tong feed and its great experience but it would be cool to get my endli to hand feed but that guy just scares me!

Thats dope, wish my wife like fish but she dont, especially carnivore fish like polys and arowana.

Seems like when they get bigger they are much bolder and don't get as skittish. Yesterday I noticed when I got home the endli came out just like the cichlids swimming around 'begging' for food.

don't give her too much credit she still thinks all the polys look the same.
