a lot of lfs in socal area are starting to carry some of the largest puffers widely available.. i think they were green spotted puffer or something along those lines.... all in the 5" plus range... pretty cool...

whats sad is lots of time people buy a puffer and harrass it just so it will puff which can kill the poor little fish. BTW how much were they and did you pick any up

green spotted puffers aren't that big, and they require brackish-to-salt water to do well. My lfs has them all the time, and I live in quite possibly the most fish-depraved large city in the US.

Has anyone tried Bazilian Freshwater puffers? According to Axelrod they don,t need saltand only get to 6". Colomesus asellus. How about aussie Freshwater Morays (Gymnothorax polyuranadon) 28"?
