Surgeries etc on your fish?

Had the same thing happen with my large female Festae. She decided to eat one of her siblings. Long story short, it wouldn't fit down her throat so I had to use some scissors to dissect the smaller fish whose head was partially gone. She seems fine now and returned to feeding almost immediately.

Here is a picture of when the festae had the oto in its mouth, it looked weird and I could see a little tail in its throat.

Otocinclus have a strong spine that is triggered open, and prevents it from being swallowed, as do many corys, they should not be kept with anything that would think of them as food. They are great algae eaters, but too dangerous for cichlids to share a tank with.
