Surprise a stocking question from a new member

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I also agree with Jaws on this.
If your keeping an Oscar I would not add any More cichlids. A couple of hoplo cats maybe, and that's it.
A 125 would make a nice tank for a group of thorichthys and personally speaking I feel would have more long term interest.
Just depends what you want most, a large solo cichlid or a group of several.

If i did a Green Terror as my main attraction would i have the ability to stock a wider selection of fish? If so once again I'm new to the bigger SA fish and am open to suggestions.

Yes a GT would increase your stocking options. It is half the size, a quarter the bioload and twice thugs predictability. A GT is a normal medium sized cichlid, but I would believe that an Oscar is the product of crossing a ranchu with a midas. You could keep a regular cichlid community with GTs. Chocolates severums, flag cichlid, true parrot, small crencichla, paretroplus menarambo, Any calm SA/CA, African riverine, Madagascar, and even some super chill Malawi heaps or peacocks would work, all without taking unnecessary risks. Mfk has many GT people and i an not one of them Hopefully one will chime in.
