Those are sick!:WHOA: I hope you have better luck than I did...:(

im hoping so too....

so brief update:

on the third feeding attempt of the evening i had a few of the pups snap at market shrimp on a skewer, first sign of a feeding response. hopefully theyll begin taking food items by tomorrow.

also spent all day tearing down my 75 gallon reef (has been long devoid of life aside from a single black onyx clownfish) and resetting it up for use a chilled growout for the puppies and hopefully a few other more "special" local species :P

hoping to begin rapid cycling it my tomorrow and moving the pups in by thanksgiving so that i can tear down the larger main system and continue with the move...

as of right now, still at ZERO casualties

i was going to ask if you cuaght the mom cuz the one still has a yolk sack on it

Very nice but do you really need 18? lol

haha. nope. i only plan on keeping a handful, hopefully a mixed group of males and females. the rest will find homes in the trade or be released back into the ocean from which they came once they get a bit of size and are able to fend for themselves

as of right now still no losses, theyve become much more coordinated, swimming upright at all times and with more rthym than when they were first "born". its going to be amazing to see how fast they develop and keep track of it. thsi is something i can honestly say most hobbiests have never seen :P

i managed to get a few more of them snapping at the market shrimp, but they still wind of spitting it out, i have a feeling the hungrier they get the more likley theyll be to eat it, but on the same note, i plan on trying cut mackeral, mysis and shrimp a squid if i cant get them to accept the market shrimp.....

theyre grow out tank is nearly finished...just have to plump the chiller....debating on whether or not the tank shud remain bare to aid with cleanliness and feedings on such a large group of elasmos...at least until they reach aout 7"s and are much more self sufficient....

if you want to release some why not buy live food toss it in and walk away. thats wat we do with stranders at the aquarium i work at.

the only issue with that is that they have tinnnnnyyyyy mouths (like, 1/4" from left to right jaw joint) and the only saltwater compatible live feed available locally is ghost shrimps, which are at the moment, still too large for these little sharkletts. they are also, ATM still in a floating basket in the main tank, and any live feeds i add would quickly escape into the display and be consumed by the other much larger tank mates.
