surubim lima max size?

so can I get some details on this catfish ive read max sizes anywhere from 8 inches to 20 inches.

anyone know how big these guys actually get I feel like if 8 inch is their max they could do ok in a 75 gal. thanks
 
they definitelyget bigger than 8". they grow slow but i think the average lima will top out around 16-18" but i think there are members who have one above 20". planet catfish lists there max size at 17 i think.
 
their maximum size is usually under 24"
 
My two are around the 16"-18" mark and i expect them to get bigger.
Seen an absolute Huge specimen a few years ago of around 24-26" and as thick as your wrist.....couldn't believe it was a Lima - truly stunning.

Not suitable for a 75 for its Lifetime I'm afraid but certainly manageable as a grow it.
 
yeah of course wouldent dream of cramming a fish I wanted to make sure they got larger than 8 inches lol. well there are alot of people our there who are just dead wrong
 
I hope the max size isnt beginning at 8inches lol. I have one to and hes a small dude. What is their growth rate like?
