I've been reading a lot on how cheap prawns are grown in ponds in places like Vietnam and there pumped full of all kinds of chemicals. They also have heavy metals in the water so I'd assume the prawns also have heavy metals. Does anyone stay away from feeding there Rays these prawns?

Most shrimp / prawns are farm raised these days. In Asia a pond is any body of water, even if the water is chemical waste from a nearby factory.

I try to avoid all food from Asia in general due to all the problems and concerns, for myself and my pets.

I feed shrimp and tilapia that I buy from the local grocery store. I don't think I've ever seen fw prawns for sale in my area.
Now I only buy wild shrimp that is caught in US waters, typically the Gulf of Mexico, to avoid the farm raised shrimp from Asia. I need to find out more about the tilapia I buy though.
