I would stay away from blowing that smell around the house. and personally having a bit of fun in these areas... not a real good idea.
I had a swamp cooler. have a portable one as well.
the big swamp cooler needed a hose to trickle on it as it would dry out.
The portable unit goes through water quick when hot out. this equals massive evap. it just adds humidity, which you have plenty of in FL
Now to cool the tank only, okay. It does work.
look up deltec eco cooler.
I built something like this myself. but just blew air right down on the pad.
I used a koi filter sponge pad from home depot pond section.
Have my overflow go into a spray bar into a plastic box. it sprays on the sponge filter to slow the water flow and get contact time. I put a small 4" fan on the top of the box, cutting a hole for it of course. that water flows out the bottom to the wet/dry
then I had another hole for air to exit. this would drop my temps about 4 degree's pretty quick in the main tank which was 100 gallons.
I am working on a dual set up on my 180 now. nothing too complicated at all. jst need to get air blowing on water. thinning it out and adding contact time helps more.
you can even trickle it down a piece of plastic with a fan on it.
Or look up cooling towers. Made from PVC. computer nerd used them to cool the PC down way back in the day. Just too much BS work for me. I wanted compact and out of sight.
It was bacially a 2 to 10 foot tall pvc pipe that was like 4" diameter. they put a Y pipe on the bottom. they would pump/drain water in the top so it would flow down the inside of the tube walls (water sticking to the tube walls is key). They put a fan on the Y section protruding out, at the bottom blowing air up it. make sure you set up the Y so the water coming down does not hit the fan. Then the water would fall out the bottom, which was usually plugged and some for of smaller pipe connection was used so air would be force up the tube, instead of out the bottom.
My results were in CA. I have no idea how it will work in FL. but it is easy and cheap enough to give a shot.
eco cooler looks like this. the part sticking out has computer fans on top. they blow up the inside of the foam. the water enters at the top.
