I have my texas that's about 9in alone in a 55g. I was thinking of moving him into our 65g that is 36x18x24, or our 70g that is 30x30x17. I want to use that 55g he's in for some other fish. He'd still be alone, he's too aggressive for mates.

Which one would work better?

the 65 is better. They need more horizontal space rather than vertical space.

scratch that im retarded. the 65 is also taller. But i would still go with the 65.

I would go with the 70. The extra 12" of width instead of losing 6" of length sounds more rewarding for the fish in my opinion.

I have other tanks, 75's, 90, 125, but I'd have to do some serious moving fish around to let him have one of them. I'm thinking of trying the 70g, or I may take the 70 to my brother's house and swap it out for a 60g and just leave the texas where he is. I just had a corner space that either of the other 2 would have fit nicely.
