I used some virgin cork bark that I got from Maryland Cork Co. The stuff is amazing, its pretty easy to work with, not all that expensive, does not rot very easily, and, of course, floats extremely well. The plants are not doing as well as I had thought. I had used hobby store moss before and it actually came back to life, but this stuff turned yellow and died. Also the ground large leaf moss that I got is not thriving very well.
I think I am going to keep all of them but keep two in my old tank, the two new ones. My painter I am just going to throw in my 75 and give him some of that bark to climb on. I had done that before with my 55 wide and he liked it.
Your second turtle is a map turtle, very likely a false map turtle Gramptemys pseudogeografica
