One of my weather loaches is now not able to stay grounded, his back side lifts up high. Not 90 degrees but somewhere between 45 and 90 degrees. One of the other weather loaches may have it too but if he does then his back side lifts up only a little bit. Any suggestions as to what I should do?
I'll post pictures later but for now I have to go.

Add some Epsom salt 1 tbsp per g. Add kanamycin. Don’t feed and keep the water clean.

What is the temp of the tank?
Weather loaches are not really tropical fish, coming from cool waters (at least part of the year (it snows and waters get ice covered in places they come from)) so if the temp is constantly tropical, bacterial issues and infections which can effect the swim bladder may be the cause.

I actually purchased a weather loach a week ago. She was in a tank with another 3 and I was deliberating for at least a couple weeks to purchase it or not. The shop is near where I work so I often visit on my lunch break and I had noticed the loaches tended to have the bottom half of the body sort of floating up from time to time too...similarly to what you describe. Then they'd straighten up. This was putting me off a bit...

A week ago I bit the bullet and got one of them since it was going to a 2 year old shrimp tank with no other fish. It's doing well so far and I haven't seen any swim bladder issues since I got her. I went to the shop this Friday with the intention to get a second one for a buddy and the one remaining loach still had the on and off balance issue. These loaches have been in the shop for many weeks so not sure it is actually a disease...

I am not sure myself really. It is strange the loach I got "stopped" having that problem, at least so far. It is in an unheated tank and is quite active and appears healthy so I won't worry for now but I am keeping an eye. I may dose up a de-wormer at some stage once she eats up most of the shrimp and snails hopefully. She's been quite the pig...I also have a good population of live black worms in there...so at the moment meds are off the menu.

I forgot that I made this thread.... Anyway, the issue resolved itself the next day or the day after that which lead me to believe that they had simply gotten a bit of air in them while greedily trying to eat the pellets as I dropped them but after hearing what coryloach has said I'm not sure what it is anymore.
duanes duanes The temperature is between 73.8 and 74.0 degrees, give or take .1 degrees. I have the tank dedicated to the 3 weather loaches and the 3 black moors so the temperature stays low.
