I've got a small 3.25" retic right now that will eat baby red wriggler worms ( size of a black worm), but won't eat a larger worm chopped into tiny pieces.

What kind of experiments do you plan on running?

Aiyaa, he better start eating soon...I might have to go buy some ghost shrimp tomorrow or something...

Theres a couple things I want to test out. First and most importantly, Calgaryflame's "salt shock" method. It's always been said not to shock EVER or you're just going to lose your ray, but seeing has how he got 2 rays that came in bad condition to eat and back to health with this method, I'm planning to try it out, especially since it's not eating right now. Second thing is Fire Medic's temperature theory. After the breeding results Fire Medic obtained by lowering the temp, I'm interested to see any difference in growth rate or health with higher or lower temperatures. Also a very important test to see if we've all been over heating our tanks for no good reason at all, it'll cut down some electricity fees, not to mention the food bill. Also need to try that Kent's Garlic X-treme to see if it makes their appetite crazy or not. Theres been so many people saying it doesn't work and a couple that say it does, I'm planning to see if it makes any difference to a newly acclimated ray as this probably wont work with my other guys as they're already tearing the tank up whenever I drop food in LOL.

Looking forward to hearing how things go with the experiments.

that's funny with it being afraid of worms.

Aaaaaand, the rays dead after the first experiment. Calgaryflame's super salt bath method hasnt worked for me. Put the ray in a 1/2 pound salt to 5 gallon water ratio solution, 15 minutes later, put it back in the q tank and then half an hour later curled up and died. Now I need to find another test subject...

on the kents thing also look into seachems garlic guard and also the entice from them i got both when i went to try kents garlic xtreme and a couple shops told me they didnt buy anything from kents as its usually a marked up product and a lower concentration of someone elses product. so i went with the seachem. seemed to help my retics eat bloodworms that they wouldnt eat before.

That sucks. I give you props for doing this...it sucks to watch the outcomes when they're not positive. Even if it is for science.
