Swimming pool tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Aro possible, aslong as it dont jump out, and the RTC or TSN would be better in a 1000g or bigger if you was to keep it long term, well more like 1500g +. grow dam quick ;)

thx wayne. I'll look into it.
Also, what substrate for an aro?

Many people have used intex pools. I went to someones house that had about 5 of them setup with everything from rays to pacu dorado catfish etc. They are cheap and effective. Koi keepers have a bit nicer pools imo but they are more money

Thanks brich999

You dont need substrate for an Aro kida.

Koi ponds will be better but its getting then into the building, unless its a garage, and the cost, look on ebay and you will see some 750g for around £150, or even Aquarists Classifieds. or make one from Ply and GRP, make it on site to the biggest you can.

Sry wayne for not replying sooner.
Thx for the info looking it up now.

Don't have a video at the moment, as far as heating goes there is a 300 watt heater now, I expect to add another 300 when the dead of winter sets in, even though it's in the house (its in a room on a north wall.
Since my son went off to college, its taken over his small bedroom, with not much space to spare.

Works for me.
I have a 500 gal intex, at first I was using it to overwinter koi, goldfish, Uruguayan cichlids, and water lilies.
It now houses 6 Madagascar cichlids.

I realize these are not monsters in the true sense of the word, but territorially, they have split it up with no room to spare.
I do have a couple heaters in it, and strategically place them over stone tiles.

Thx a lot duane. How big a abkve ground pool to start do u think?
Also, hkw many bichirs could I do?

I always figure the bigger the better, I based the dimensions of mine on whether or not it would fit in the room. There is not much room to spare, in order to get to the opposite side from the door, I need to wade. Mine is not very deep, only about 2ft, but I put a floor jack under neath the floor just to be safe, think filled it weighs over 6000 lbs.
Can't comment, I've never kept a bicher.
