doesn't the grow slow down after it reach certain size? I'm hoping I can get maybe 2-3 years in the 180g.

IDK for sure. Mine grew very slowly from 11 to 19", 8" in 2.5 years. Then it has grown 6" in the last 8-9 months. I believe this has mostly to do with it's eating.

That is awesome! Whatever you are doing you’re doing it right. Please share your maintenance and feeding routine. You have a WD sump underneath?

Maintenance is 33-50% water chance every 6-7 days. The aro are fed shrimp every other day and can eat pellets daily if they like. Yes I do have a WD filter.

nice brian...good to see they aren't picking on the little one...

Yeah 4 full days and counting/hoping. Looks like all will be well but there is still alot of concern. The first night I slept one the fishroom floor and got up every 30-45minutes to check on them:screwy:. The good sign is how aggressive the little one is towards eating. He'll shoot right in front of the larger aros to steal pellets.

when ever i mix the aros for the first time together i always lose sleep...i do the same as you, but from my bed...i pop up ever 30 mins to check...sometimes it takes a few attemps to mix to get them to work...i just got pissed on the last mix i did...3 silvers in with my 10" silver...first night one got stuck on the top and dried out, i didn't see it and miss counted...next day when i got back from fishing i found only my 10" aro and a fat mono pbass:irked:...i am gonna wait till the aros got more on the bass for this times mix, though i may mix the black and silvers before i mix them with the big one...

Damnn look good. Little black arowana definitely looks dwarfed. And I agree abt feeding shrimp, it really ups the growth rate on the fish I feed it too.

Thanks all:)

Looking good!!! Makes me want to buy 4 of them (only 2 weeks away!!) but having bought a new car and a new dog and not having space to grow them out separately means its not going to happen.
I take it that they're not so aggressive towards each other at that size? I wonder why the juvi's are so feisty...

Congratz on the mix Brian. Everyone is looking happy and healthy. Things have come a long way over the past 2 yrs!

tank and stock look incredible dude. You ever consider building a canopy for that beast?

Thanks all:)

Yes eventually the stands( both the 450 and 180/125) will be finish to furniture grade. There will also be matching canopies over both the 450g and the 240g once I upgrade to it.

glad you got it in and it's working out so far...can't wait to see it
