Switched my backround from blue to black

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The key to have a better looking black background is to make sure that there's no air or dirty stuff between the glass and the background. Unfortunately I realized that all too late - don't have access to the back of most of my tanks anymore.

Here is a nice piece written by Japes on how to do it. I tried it on the last tank I set up and it worked great - http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=236032

Looks good. Just make sure to get any algae build up on the glass, as it shows more imo with a black background.

The picture with the blue background is much better quality, so it is hard to make an unbiased judgement.

I like the black best, but I possess an innate skill to picture what the tank would look like if the picture quality were the same, so maybe Im biased.

company I work for is a sign shop so im changing my backgrounds usually monthly.
the easiest way is to get a piece of 1/16th plastic for bout 5$ cut it to the width an height of tank put your black vinyl or printed vinyl on it then slide it in behind its flexible easily changed and not a pain in ass to remove. just an idea./

i agree. i thought you added more lighting or or shot from a slightly different angle, in the second pic. the first pic looks much better.

I disagree. The question was about the background on the tank, not the lighting, angle the picture was shot at or the quality of the picture.

I like the black background best.
