I used play sand, it looks cool, but it keeps clogging my filters, if there is a slightly heavier grade of sand thats not 'sharp' I would try that

there is a heavier grade that is not abrasive at all, its called:

pool filter sand.

any pool store will carry it. well, at least the ones here do.
