Synodontis Clarias - Info needed

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes, looks right to me. As stated, they are very rare and again, if you'd like some tangible feedback, I'd recommend asking on Planet Catfish.

K krichardson I have seen them for sale at WetSpot, Rapps, Rehoboth, aquabid, ebay in the US.
Yep,as have I but I didn't mention any names on my previous post.

I had a 4 inch one a few years ago. I never could get it to eat. Pretty fish.

Synodontis clarias "Red Tail Squeaker Cat" 4 inch is at my LFS at $50 usd on sale online from $60. I've personally seen this fish at the store a few times for the 2016 year. The red tail is a good giveaway. Not sure on max size, color when it ages or rarity, but I can say it is not common. It hid behind a rock quite a bit. This red tail squeaker cat kind of reminds me of a Hemisynodontis membranaceus "Moustache Catfish". I've seen both in person. The one on the FB page looks quite a nice thick 7-8 inch specimen.

On a separate note. Cool catfish, but I think you've seen me in the poly section. Use the pound towards polys instead, lol......

Picked up the Clarias today! Not got any shots inside my tank yet as it's either hiding behind the wood or chasing my loaches around! Are these aggressive or just trying to be territorial? Anyway here's a pick of it this morning at the shop!

This one seems to think it’s a clown loach! Roams around with the loaches and eats anything given! Very lucky in this sense!

Outstanding.I think I am going to finally pull the trigger and get one.

You should definitely get one and try it out! I’ve read online that they max out at 14”? The only google pics I’ve seen are at a guess 8”, not sure if these really would hit 14”?!
