Hey Guy's,
I'm kinda new to this fish thing. However I have a 30g tank full of live plants and about 6 mollys, 2 Pleco's and 1 albino pleco. My problem is that I got a Featherfin almost by mistake and he seem's to be very aggressive towards the plecos. What should I do about this. I had to remove the Albino to a diff tank. Should I go with a totally aggressive tank ? If so what would play nice with the Featherfin.

Thanks,
Mike Dallas, TX.

I'd get a 55g minimum for that catfish. They can reach 6-8 inches and are indeed boisterous often harassing other tankmates.

A upgrade plan is in the works .... But with being my first tank... over 25q I wanted get a feel for it. He's about 2 1/2 inchs now. How fast do they grow ?

I seen these yesterday at petsmart and was going to pick one up until I seen the price tag.
They're not that expensive here. How much do they cost there?

I think mine grew to 6 inches in less than 5-6 months when I bought a group at about 2 inches size. That's all I can remember since I kept them before.

Ya got mine by mistake.. a part time emp their told me it was a pleco... I got it home and did some research ... $3.88 was my price .. lol

Sounds like good deal to me.:) Just need a tank upgrade to save your other fish from constant harassments.

I had a 7" Featherfin tear up a jeuvie Oscar in a 55 gallon.
And i mean TORE up. He was missing almost half of all his scales.

Featherfins do well in more aggressive set ups. Mine did well with a 13" Oscar, JD, and P.Loisellei.
